Verified on release 3.4.5.21 "Trade Management for Kazakhstan" (edition 3.4).
You added a new vodka item to your nomenclature, tried to issue an SNT for it — and got a rejection: "Type of alcoholic product not filled in." Or even worse — the SNT went to the IS ESF, and it came back with a product code error. The reason is the same: the product card has no element of the "Types of alcoholic products" reference selected, or the selected type has an empty classifier code. This small reference directly affects whether your electronic invoice is accepted or not. Let's figure out how to fill it in once and correctly.
1. Purpose
The reference stores the classifier of types of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products (beer, wine, vodka, cognac, alcohol, etc.). Each type carries a code that is substituted into the accompanying waybills for goods (SNT) and into declarations on alcohol turnover. Without it, you cannot declare alcohol turnover or send an electronic invoice.
2. Where to find it
This is a service reference, hidden in the menu. There are two reliable ways:
Via the product card: Master data and administration → Nomenclature → open the product → the tab with alcohol accounting details → the Type of alcoholic product field → the selection button → Show all. This opens the reference list, which also has a Create button.
Directly via a navigation link. Menu Tools (or Main) → "Go to navigation link", paste in:
e1cib/list/Справочник.ВидыАлкогольнойПродукцииThis is the fastest way to open the entire list without searching through the menu.
Tip: add the opened list to favorites (the star at the top of the window) so you don't have to search for the link every time.
2a. How to check your release
Menu "Help" → "About the program". In the window that opens you'll see the platform version (e.g. 8.3.24.x) and the configuration release — the line "Trade Management for Kazakhstan, edition 3.4 (3.4.5.21)". If your release is older or newer, the composition of the reference's fields may differ slightly — check this guide by field names, not by their layout.
3. How to fill it in
The reference element is extremely simple, but every field affects the SNT and declarations.
| Field | Required | Purpose / what happens if there's an error |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | A clear name for the type: "Vodka," "Beer," "Grape wine." You use it to select the type in the product card. If named vaguely ("Type 1"), you'll later mix it up and assign the wrong code to a product. |
| Code | filled in automatically | The internal code of the reference element. No need to change it manually — 1C numbers it itself. It has no effect on the declaration. |
| Product type code (classifier code) | Yes, if issuing an SNT | The numeric/alphanumeric type code per the state alcohol classifier. This is exactly what goes into the SNT and the declaration. An empty or incorrect code — the SNT will fail format-logic control in the IS ESF, and the waybill will be returned with an error. |
| Unit of measure (for declaration) | recommended | Liters/decaliters in which the turnover of the type is declared. An incorrect unit distorts volumes in the declaration. |
| Parent / group | no | The reference can be hierarchical. Grouping ("Strong alcohol," "Low-alcohol") is convenient for a large list, and has no effect on accounting. |
| Deletion mark | — | Do not delete a type if it is already set on even one product or posted in an SNT — you'll get a broken link. Set the deletion mark and delete only via "Deletion of marked objects." |
Procedure:
- Open the list via the navigation link.
- Create → enter the Name.
- Fill in the Product type code strictly per the classifier (check against the code reference on the IS ESF portal / authorized body).
- Specify the declaration unit.
- Save and close.
- Return to the product card and select the created type in the Type of alcoholic product field. Until the type is set on the product, it does not participate in document workflow.
One reference type — for many products. Don't create a separate "type" for each vodka brand. Create the type "Vodka," and specify the brand and strength in the nomenclature itself.
4. Worked example with postings
Condition. Ak-Niet LLP sells 100 bottles of "Standard" vodka, 0.5 L, to a retail store at 2,000 ₸ per bottle with VAT 16%. The cost of the batch is 120,000 ₸. VAT payer.
Reference preparation:
- Create the type "Vodka," with the product type classifier code filled in and the declaration unit — liters.
- In the product card "Vodka 'Standard' 0.5 L," the field Type of alcoholic product = "Vodka".
Calculating the amounts (price includes VAT):
| Indicator | Formula | Amount, ₸ |
|---|---|---|
| Total with VAT | 100 × 2,000 | 200,000.00 |
| VAT 16% (included) | 200,000 × 16 ⁄ 116 | 27,586.21 |
| Revenue excluding VAT | 200,000 − 27,586.21 | 172,413.79 |
| Cost | per accounting | 120,000.00 |
The document "Sale of goods and services" generates the postings:
| Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1210 | 6010 | 172,413.79 | Revenue from sale recognized |
| 1210 | 3130 | 27,586.21 | VAT payable accrued at 16% |
| 7010 | 1330 | 120,000.00 | Cost of goods written off |
Total buyer receivables (1210) = 200,000.00 ₸. It is precisely because the product had a correct type of alcoholic product set that, based on this sale, you issued the SNT and ESF without errors: the "Vodka" type code was automatically substituted into the electronic documents.
Upon payment:
| Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1030 | 1210 | 200,000.00 | Funds received to current account |
5. Types of operations
The reference itself does not perform operations — it is a classifier. But its value participates in alcohol-related operations:
- Alcohol sale — the type code goes into the SNT and ESF for the sale.
- Alcohol receipt — the code is needed for the incoming SNT and receiving.
- Transfer / return of alcohol between warehouses — also requires an SNT with the type code.
- Declaring turnover of alcoholic products — amounts are grouped by type.
6. What is generated when used
The reference itself does not create postings. Its value "activates" alcohol accounting in other documents:
- Postings — generated by movement documents (sale, receipt), see the example above.
- Electronic documents:
- SNT (accompanying waybill for goods) — required for alcohol turnover; the product type code is substituted into it.
- ESF (electronic invoice via IS ESF) — issued for the sale; the product type affects the correctness of the product codes.
- Registers/declarations — alcohol turnover accounting movements are grouped by type to generate alcohol reporting.
7. Printed forms
The classifier reference itself has no printed forms of its own — there's nothing to print, it's just a list line. Printed forms are provided by the documents that use the type:
- Sale of goods and services — "Waybill," "Invoice" / ESF, "Bill of lading."
- SNT — the printed form of the accompanying waybill.
- Reports and declarations on alcoholic product turnover.
8. Common errors
"Field 'Type of alcoholic product' is not filled in" (when saving an SNT or sale). → Open the product card, select the type on the alcohol accounting tab. If there's no suitable type in the reference — create it via the navigation link.
SNT returned from IS ESF: "Invalid product type code" / "Code not found in classifier." → Open the reference element, check the Product type code field: it must exactly match the current state classifier. A typo, extra space, or outdated code is the most common cause.
"The object cannot be deleted, there are references to it." → The type is already set on products or in posted SNTs. Don't delete it directly: remove the type from the products, or simply set the deletion mark and run "Administration → Deletion of marked objects" — the program will check references itself.
Duplicated types ("Vodka" and "vodka"). → Products get scattered across two identical types, and the declaration "doubles." Mark the extra one for deletion, and reassign the products to one type using bulk attribute change processing.
Incorrect declaration unit (pieces instead of liters). → The volume in the alcohol declaration becomes meaningless. Fix the unit in the reference element and re-post the declaration.
9. FAQ
Q: Do I have to fill in this reference if I don't sell alcohol? A: No. The reference is only needed for products classified as alcoholic and alcohol-containing products. For regular products, the type field is not filled in and doesn't interfere.
Q: How does "Type of alcoholic product" differ from the unit of measure and from the nomenclature itself? A: Nomenclature is a specific product (brand, container volume). Type is a classification group (vodka, beer, wine) with a code for the SNT and declarations. Unit of measure is how you count pieces in the warehouse. For declaring volume, a separate unit (liters/decaliters) is used within the type itself.
Q: Where do I get the correct product type code? A: From the current state classifier of types of alcoholic products (the code reference is available on the IS ESF portal and from the authorized body). Enter the code character for character.
Q: Can one type be assigned to many products? A: Yes, that's how it should be done. The type "Beer" is set for all beer varieties. Keep the brand and strength in the product cards, not by creating multiple types.
Q: Why doesn't the SNT get sent even though the type is selected on the product? A: Most likely the type itself has an empty or incorrect "Product type code" field. Open the reference element and fill in the code.
Q: Does the type of alcoholic product affect the VAT rate? A: No. VAT on sales in 2026 is 16% and is set by the rate in the document/nomenclature. The type is responsible for the SNT and alcohol declarations, not the tax.
Q: How do I fix the type on a product that has already been sold? A: Change the type in the product card, then re-post the documents and reissue the SNT/ESF if they were already sent with the incorrect code. Documents already sent to IS ESF are corrected via revocation/correction.
Q: Can I delete an unneeded type? A: Only if there are no references to it. Set the deletion mark and delete via "Deletion of marked objects" — directly deleting a type in use will result in broken links in products and SNTs.
Q: The reference is hierarchical — are groups needed? A: Groups ("Strong alcohol," "Low-alcohol") are convenient for a large list, but have no effect on accounting or codes. Use them if you want, or keep a flat list if you don't.
Q: Who should maintain this reference — the accountant or the administrator? A: Usually the accountant or the person responsible for master data. Filling it in is a one-time task: create the types for your assortment, and afterward just select them for new products.
