Checked on release 3.0.74.2 "Accounting for Kazakhstan" (version 3.0).

You are adding a new supplier before issuing an electronic invoice (ESF). You enter the legal address, reach the street type — and the required option is not in the dropdown list. "Microdistrict" is there, but "highway" is not. Or vice versa: the address seems to be filled in, but in the printed form and in the ESF it appears incorrectly — "Almaty city, microdistrict 12, house 5" without periods and with unclear abbreviations. All of this is regulated by one small service directory — "Address Abbreviations". Here, it stores how the program decodes and prints "st.", "ave.", "microdistrict", "village" and dozens of other address elements.

To get straight to the point, so you don't have to search through the entire article: this directory does not make accounting entries, does not generate ESF, tax returns or printed forms, and does not affect amounts, VAT, or taxes in any way. It is a classifier — a dictionary of abbreviations. It only helps to correctly enter and beautifully print the addresses of counterparties, your organization, and employees.

1. Purpose

The "Address Abbreviations" directory stores the correspondence between the full name of an address element and its abbreviated form: "street" → "st", "city" → "c", "microdistrict" → "mkr". The program uses these records when you enter an address in contact information and when it outputs it in documents. Each abbreviation is assigned an address level — from region to house.

2. Where to find

The directory is a service one, so it is not in the regular menu sections. You can open it in two ways:

  • Through "All Functions": Main menu (1C icon in the upper left corner) → Functions for technical specialists (All Functions) → Directories → Address Abbreviations. If the "All Functions" item is not visible, enable it: Service → Options → Show "All Functions" command.
  • Through the navigation link (the fastest way): Main menu → File → Open by navigation link (or the shortcut for navigating by link), paste:
e1cib/list/Directory.AddressAbbreviations

Records in this directory usually get there automatically when loading the address classifier (Administration → Internet support and services → Load address classifier or when the online classifier is enabled). Manual entries are rare — just in situations like the one in the first paragraph.

2a. How to know your release

Help → About the program (or through the main menu → Help). In the opened window, you will see two lines: platform version ("1C:Enterprise 8.3.x.xxxx") and configuration version — "Accounting for Kazakhstan, version 3.0 (3.0.74.2)". The second line is the release to which this instruction refers. If your release is higher, the composition of the fields may differ slightly.

3. How to fill

You open the list, click "Create". The item form is simple — three to four fields.

Field What it is and why What will happen if filled incorrectly
Name (mandatory) The full name of the address element: "street", "lane", "microdistrict", "village". This is what you see in the lists when selecting the type of object. If left blank — the record will not be saved. If you write with a typo ("stret"), you will not find it in normal search when entering the address.
Abbreviation (mandatory) The short form that is substituted in the finished address: "st", "ln", "mkr", "v". This is what goes to print and to the ESF. If left blank — the address will have nothing instead of the abbreviation or the full word, the address will be incorrect. If you make a mistake in the abbreviation — it will be printed as is in all documents.
Level (mandatory) The level number of the address according to the classifier: region, district, city, locality, street, house. Determines in which address field the program will suggest this abbreviation. If you set an incorrect level — the abbreviation will be suggested in the wrong field (for example, "street" will be at the city level), and the address will not be formed correctly.
Code Service code of the record. Usually assigned automatically. Do not touch.

The practical meaning: "Name" — for a person when selecting, "Abbreviation" — for printing, "Level" — so that the option appears in the correct address field. All three fields are important in conjunction.

After filling — "Save and close".

4. Analyzed example

You have a Kazakh supplier, address: Almaty city, microdistrict Samal-2, house 33. You open the counterparty card, the contact information tab, start entering the address and at the "street/microdistrict" level do not find the option "microdistrict". The address cannot be assembled without it.

What you do:

  1. Open e1cib/list/Directory.AddressAbbreviations.
  2. "Create".
  3. Fill in:
    • Name: microdistrict
    • Abbreviation: mkr
    • Level: 5 (street/intra-city object level).
  4. "Save and close".

Now you return to the counterparty's address. In the type selection field, "microdistrict (mkr)" appears. You select it, enter "Samal-2", house 33. The program assembles the address string: "Almaty city, mkr Samal-2, house 33" — and it will go in this form in the contract, in the ESF details, and in printed forms.

About entries honestly: this example does not generate any debit/credit entries — the address abbreviation directory has no relation to the accounting of amounts. Compare: when you later issue a sale to this supplier, the entries (for example, Debit 1210 Credit 6010 for the income amount, Debit 1210 Credit 3130 for VAT at the rate of 16%, Debit 7010 Credit 1330 for the cost) will be generated by the sale document, not the address. The address abbreviation will only ensure that the counterparty's address in the header of that ESF is readable.

5. Types of operations

The directory does not have "types of operations" in the sense of documents. Records in it appear in three ways:

  • Automatically when loading the address classifier — the main way; hundreds of standard abbreviations are pulled in ready-made.
  • Automatically when entering an address online — when the internet classifier is enabled and you enter a new address.
  • Manually — when the required abbreviation is not available (as in the example above) or needs to be corrected.

6. What is formed when using

  • No entries. The directory is not a document and does not make movements in accounts.
  • No movements in accounting registers (VAT, mutual settlements, taxes).
  • Does not generate electronic documents (ESF, tax returns). But its records are used when forming ESF and tax returns: abbreviations go into the address details of the seller and buyer. Incorrect abbreviation → incorrect address in ESF.
  • The result of the directory's work is a correctly assembled address string in the contact information of counterparties, organizations, and individuals.

7. Printed forms

The directory does not have its own printed forms — there is no need to print the dictionary of abbreviations. Its content appears in the printed forms of other objects: where the address is displayed — contracts, invoices, acts, waybills, details in ESF/tax returns. If the address looks correct in these forms — the directory is filled in correctly.

8. Common errors

"The field 'Name' is not filled" — the full name is not specified. Write the full form ("lane"), not just the abbreviation.

Duplicate abbreviations. You created a second record "street/st", although it already exists after loading the classifier. Two identical items appear in the selection list. Solution: open the list, sort by name, mark the extra duplicate for deletion (Edit → Mark for deletion), then Administration → Maintenance → Delete marked objects.

The address is not assembled / "Address does not match the format". A common reason is an incorrect level for the abbreviation: the type "street" is at the city level, so it is not offered in the street field. Open the record and correct the level.

"Cannot delete, object is in use". The abbreviation has already been used in someone's address. First, find and correct the addresses where it is used, then delete.

The abbreviation is printed incorrectly (for example, "street" fully instead of "st"). This means that the "Abbreviation" field has the full word or is empty. Write the short form.

9. FAQ

Where is the "Address Abbreviations" directory located? It is not in the regular menu. Open it through All Functions → Directories → Address Abbreviations or by the navigation link e1cib/list/Directory.AddressAbbreviations.

Can I add my own abbreviation, for example "mkr"? Yes. "Create" → fill in Name, Abbreviation, and Level → "Save and close". After that, the option will appear when entering the address.

Why is the address not saved or gives a format error? Most often, the abbreviation has an incorrect address level specified, so it does not fit the required field. Check the "Level" field in the record. Also, check that there is no empty "Abbreviation" field.

Does this directory make entries? No. It is a classifier. Entries are generated by documents (sales, receipts, payment orders), the address does not affect amounts and accounts.

Does the directory affect VAT and taxes? No. The VAT rate (in the RK from 2026 — 16%), individual income tax, social tax are calculated in the relevant documents and accounting policy settings. Address abbreviations have no relation to calculations.

What does the "Level" field mean? It is the level of the element in the address hierarchy: region, district, city, locality, street, house. It determines in which address field the program will suggest this abbreviation.

Where do the records come from — do they need to be entered manually? The majority of the program loads automatically with the address classifier or during online address entry. Manually, only what is missing is added.

Can I delete an extra abbreviation? Yes, if it is not used anywhere: mark it for deletion and run the deletion of marked objects. If it is already in someone's address, first correct those addresses.

Why is the counterparty's address displayed incorrectly in the ESF? Because the ESF takes the address from the contact information, and it is assembled according to the abbreviations from this directory. Find the required abbreviation, correct the "Abbreviation" and "Level" fields, then reopen/reassemble the counterparty's address.

Do I need to do anything with this directory when updating the classifier? Specifically — no. When loading a new classifier, the relevant abbreviations will be updated automatically. Your manual entries will remain.

  • Based on what it is filled: loading the address classifier (Administration → Internet support and services), online address classifier.
  • Where it is used: contact information in directories Counterparties, Organizations, Individuals, Warehouses — everywhere there is an "Address" field. Through them, abbreviations get into contracts, invoices, acts, waybills, ESF and tax returns.

How to know your release
