Verified on release 3.4.5.21 "Trade Management for Kazakhstan" (edition 3.4).

You're closing the month, opening the trial balance for account 1330, and seeing that some goods landed on 1330, while some fell into "unallocated" or went straight to 7010. The cost of goods for a product group doesn't match what your accountant expects. You start investigating — and run into the fact that some inventory items have accounts set, while others don't. Or the wrong revenue account is set. Fixing this card by card — thousands of items — would wear your hands out. The right place to fix all this centrally is the "Item Financial Accounting Groups" catalog. This is the very "switch" that tells the program: "reflect all goods from this group on such-and-such accounts."

1. Purpose

The catalog defines sets of accounting accounts for item groups: inventory account (1330), sales revenue (6010), cost of goods sold (7010), VAT (3130), etc. You link dozens and hundreds of items to a group — and the program takes the accounts from the group rather than from each card. This is the basis for correctly reflecting sales, purchases, and cost of goods sold in regulated accounting in Kazakhstan.

2. Where to find it

Three working paths:

  • Via item accounting settings: section Master Data and Administration → Master Data and Section Settings → Financial Result and Controlling (or Regulated Accounting depending on your interface) → the "Financial Accounting Group" is selected in item cards and in the recognition rules.
  • Directly from the item card / item type: the "Financial Accounting Group" attribute — follow the hyperlink to go to the catalog.
  • As a list: the easiest way is to open it via a navigation link.

1C navigation link: e1cib/list/Справочник.ГруппыФинансовогоУчетаНоменклатуры

To open: Main menu (☰) → Service → Go to navigation link (or Ctrl+Shift+F11), paste the line above, click "Go".

2a. How to find out your release

Main menu (☰) → Help → About the program. In the window that opens: the "Configuration" line will show "Trade Management for Kazakhstan, edition 3.4 (3.4.5.21)", the "Platform" line — the 1C:Enterprise version (8.3.x). These numbers are needed to understand which version this instruction applies to: menu paths and field composition may differ between releases.

3. How to fill it in

Open the catalog, click "Create". There are few fields, but each is responsible for a specific posting.

Field Required Why, and what happens if it's wrong
Name Yes A clear group name, e.g. "Goods for resale" or "Materials". Doesn't affect postings, but if named unclearly — you'll later fail to figure out what's linked where, and assign the wrong group to an item.
Inventory account Yes Usually 1330 (goods). Goods are received and stored on this account. If wrong — goods will land on the wrong account, and the 1330 trial balance won't match the actual balance.
Revenue account (sales revenue) Yes 6010 — revenue from sales of goods/services. Wrong account → revenue won't hit the right line and will distort the financial result.
Cost of goods sold account (expenses) Yes 7010 — cost of goods sold. If wrong, the cost of goods won't be written off correctly, and gross profit will be incorrect.
VAT account (on sales / purchases) Yes, if you work with VAT 3130 — VAT payable on sales; input VAT on purchase — the corresponding VAT recoverable account. An error here breaks the VAT return.
Settlement accounts / other analytics Depending on the situation In some releases, additional accounts (settlements, markup, revaluation) are configured in combination with "Item Financial Accounting Group + Settlements Financial Accounting Group". Filled in according to your accounting policy.

After filling in — "Save and close". Then link the group to the item: in the item card (or item type) the "Financial Accounting Group" field. By setting the group once on the "Item Type", you automatically apply it to all items of this type — this is the fastest way.

Important: the catalog defines the accounts, while the rules themselves — "which account in which situation" — are ultimately assembled in the posting settings register. But the group is exactly the key by which the program finds the right account when posting.

4. Worked example with postings

Scenario. LLP "Astana-Trade" (VAT payer, general tax regime). There is a financial accounting group "Goods for resale" with accounts: inventory 1330, revenue 6010, cost of goods sold 7010, VAT on sales 3130. The VAT rate in 2026 is 16%.

Step 1. Purchase. Bought 100 units of goods at 5,000 ₸ excluding VAT = 500,000 ₸, VAT 16% = 80,000 ₸, total 580,000 ₸.

Dr Cr Amount, ₸ Description
1330 3310 500,000 Goods received (account 1330 — from the group)
1420 3310 80,000 Input VAT for offset

Step 2. Sale. Sold all 100 units at 8,000 ₸ excluding VAT = 800,000 ₸, VAT 16% = 128,000 ₸, payable 928,000 ₸.

Dr Cr Amount, ₸ Description
1210 6010 800,000 Sales revenue recognized (account 6010 — from the group)
1210 3130 128,000 VAT payable accrued 16% (account 3130 — from the group)
7010 1330 500,000 Cost of goods sold written off (accounts 7010 and 1330 — from the group)

Step 3. Payment from the customer.

Dr Cr Amount, ₸ Description
1030 1210 928,000 Funds received to the current account

Result. Gross profit = 800,000 − 500,000 = 300,000 ₸. VAT payable on this transaction = 128,000 − 80,000 = 48,000 ₸. All accounts in the postings were taken automatically from a single "Goods for resale" group — you didn't set them in each card.

5. Transaction types (what the catalog provides)

This is a setup catalog, not a document, so there are no "transaction types" in the usual sense. But the group participates in three types of business situations:

  • Receipt of inventory — determines the receiving account (1330).
  • Sales — determines the revenue (6010), VAT (3130), and cost of goods sold (7010) accounts.
  • Other write-off / transfer / revaluation — the inventory account is used as the source/destination of the movement.

6. What is generated upon posting

The catalog itself doesn't post anything. It "activates" at the moment of posting documents that reference items with this group:

  • Postings — on the accounts specified in the group (see example above).
  • Register movements for cost of goods, batches, financial results — with group-based analytics.
  • Electronic documents — when selling based on a sales document, an ESF (electronic invoice in the ESF IS) and, if needed, an SNT (accompanying waybill for goods) are generated. Accounts from the financial accounting group don't affect the composition of the ESF/SNT, but a correct group means correct reflection of the same transaction in regulated accounting.

7. Printed forms

The catalog itself has no printed forms — it's a configuration object. Printed forms arise from documents that use the group:

  • Inventory Release Waybill (form Z-2);
  • Invoice / ESF;
  • Payment invoice;
  • Sales receipt;
  • Work Completion Certificate (form R-1) — for services.

8. Common errors

"Accounting account not filled in / financial accounting group not found for item '…'" The item has no group assigned, or the required account isn't filled in the group. Open the item card (or its type) → fill in "Financial Accounting Group"; check in the group itself that 1330 / 6010 / 7010 / 3130 are set.

"Document not posted: revenue account not defined" The revenue account field is empty in the group. Enter 6010, re-post the sales document.

Cost of goods sold not being written off / 7010 empty The cost of goods sold account is not set in the group, or the "Cost Calculation" routine for the period hasn't been run. Fill in 7010 and run the month-end closing.

VAT not being accrued at 16% Check that the group has the VAT account 3130 specified, and that the item/contract has a VAT rate of 16% (in 2026, the base VAT rate in Kazakhstan is 16%, not the previous 12%). The account in the group and the rate in the card are separate settings — both are needed.

One group for everything Goods, services, and materials are lumped into one group — service revenue falls on the wrong account. Set up separate groups: "Goods", "Services", "Materials".

9. FAQ

What's the difference between "Item Financial Accounting Group" and "Price Group" / "Item Group"? Price group is about prices and discounts. Item group (folder) is about ease of searching in the tree. Financial accounting group is exclusively about accounting accounts. These are three different mechanisms, unrelated to each other.

Can accounts be set directly in the item card, bypassing the group? In standard Trade Management for Kazakhstan, accounting accounts are centralized precisely through financial accounting groups — this is architecturally correct. Setting an account "one by one" for thousands of items is impractical; set up groups and link them.

How many groups should be created? As many as the number of different account sets you need. The usual minimum: goods for resale, materials, services, packaging. If all use one set of accounts — one is enough.

I changed the account in the group — will old postings be recalculated? No, nothing changes retroactively automatically. The new account will apply to newly posted (and re-posted) documents. Re-post the old period manually if needed.

Which account should be used for goods — 1330? Yes, for goods in a warehouse for resale — 1330. For raw materials and supplies — the corresponding inventory account per your working chart of accounts.

What VAT rate is used in postings in 2026? The base VAT rate in Kazakhstan from 2026 is 16%. The VAT payable account on sales is 3130. Check that the item has a rate of 16% set, not the outdated 12%.

Does the group affect the ESF and SNT? The financial accounting group doesn't directly affect the composition and sending of the ESF/SNT — it determines the accounting accounts for the same transaction. But without a correct group, the document may fail to post, and then it won't get to the point of issuing the ESF.

Where can I see which items are assigned a specific group? In the item list, add a filter/column for the "Financial Accounting Group" attribute, or build a report on items grouped by this attribute.

Can a group be deleted? Only if no item and no document references it. Otherwise the program will report that the element is in use. First reassign items to another group, then mark for deletion.

Do I need to touch this catalog for services without a warehouse? Yes. Services don't have an inventory account, but they do have a revenue account (6010) and VAT (3130). Set up a separate "Services" group with these accounts.

10. Related documents

The catalog is a setup object, documents are not entered "based on" it. It is used when posting:

  • Purchase of goods and services — inventory account 1330;
  • Sale of goods and services — accounts 6010, 7010, 3130;
  • Transfer / Receipt / Write-off of inventory — inventory account;
  • Entry of opening balances for items;
  • documents generating ESF and SNT.

Configured in combination with: the "Items" / "Item Types" catalog (where the group link is set) and the document posting settings register in regulated accounting.
