Verified on release 3.0.74.2 "Accounting for Kazakhstan" (edition 3.0).
You built a sales report grouped by the additional attribute "Sales channel." And instead of a single "Retail" line, you see two: "Retail" and "retail." The amounts have split apart, the total doesn't match what you expected. The cause isn't in the documents — the cause is in the list of values from which managers were choosing. Someone once entered a value manually with a lowercase letter, and the reference book remembered both entries. To put things in order here — rename, delete the duplicate, add a missing value — you open the "Object property values" reference book. This is the place where all the options live that drop down in a list in the additional attributes of your counterparties, items, and documents.
1. Purpose
"Object property values" is a service reference book. It stores the choice options for additional attributes and information whose value type is "Additional value" (that is, a list you define yourself, rather than a number, date, or reference to another reference book). Each value is tied to its owning attribute. The reference book itself doesn't calculate or post anything — it only stores the list of what you then select in cards and documents.
2. Where to find it
This reference book is almost never opened directly — you work with it through the settings of the attribute the values belong to.
Main path (via attribute settings): Section "Administration" → "General settings" → "Additional attributes and information" → select a set (for example, "Counterparties" or "Sales of goods and services") → open the needed attribute → on the values tab you see the list — these are the elements of the "Object property values" reference book.
Direct path to the reference book itself (a list of all values of all attributes at once): copy the link and paste it via "Tools" → "Navigate by navigation link" (in some versions — Ctrl+F11):
e1cib/list/Справочник.ЗначенияСвойствОбъектов
Note: in the direct list, values are shown mixed together and grouped by owner. For tidy work, it's more convenient to go in through the settings of a specific attribute.
The checkbox that enables the whole mechanism: "Administration" → "General settings" → "Additional attributes and information". If it's cleared, attributes and their values won't appear anywhere.
2a. How to find out your release
"Help" → "About" (or the "i" icon in the upper right corner). It shows:
- the platform version (for example, 8.3.24.xxxx);
- the configuration release — for this guide, 3.0.74.2 "Accounting for Kazakhstan".
If your release differs, the menu items and field set may vary slightly.
3. How to fill it in
The correct way is not to create a value directly in the "Object property values" reference book "from scratch," but to go in from the attribute. Then the owner is substituted automatically and the value ends up in exactly the list where it's needed.
| Field | Required | What it's for and what happens if you make a mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Value (Name) | Yes | The text that will be seen in the drop-down list. Write it consistently and without extra spaces. If you enter "Retail" and "retail," you'll get two different values and split-apart reports. |
| Owner (attribute/information) | Yes | Indicates which additional attribute the value belongs to. It fills in by itself when you add a value from the attribute settings. If you create a value directly in the reference book and don't specify an owner, it won't be available for selection anywhere. |
| Weight | No | A number for sorting. Values with a smaller weight appear higher in the list. Handy when you need not alphabetical order but your own (for example, "High," "Medium," "Low"). |
| Hierarchy (folders) | No | If there are many values, they can be arranged into groups. For this, the attribute must use the hierarchical storage option. |
| Deletion mark | No | Set when a value is no longer needed. The value itself doesn't disappear from old documents — it remains until you perform deletion of marked objects. |
How to add a value step by step:
- Open "Administration" → "Additional attributes and information".
- Select the object set (whom the attribute is for — counterparties, items, document).
- Open the needed attribute (or create a new one with the value type "Additional value").
- Click "Add" in the values list.
- Enter the Value, and if needed set the Weight.
- "Save and close." The value is immediately available for selection in all cards of this set.
4. Example with figures and postings
I'll show how a value from this reference book works in a real operation.
Task. You want to see revenue broken down by sales channel. You create an additional attribute "Sales channel" for the "Sales of goods and services" document with the "Additional value" type and enter two values in the reference book: "Wholesale" and "Retail".
Operation. Sale of goods to a wholesale buyer. Amount with VAT — 1,160,000 ₸, the VAT rate in 2026 — 16%.
- Amount without VAT: 1,160,000 ÷ 1.16 = 1,000,000 ₸
- VAT: 160,000 ₸
- Cost of goods sold: 700,000 ₸
In the sales document, in the additional attribute field "Sales channel," you select the value "Wholesale".
Postings when the sale is posted:
| Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1210 | 6010 | 1,000,000 | Income from sales (excluding VAT) |
| 1210 | 3130 | 160,000 | VAT payable, 16% |
| 7010 | 1330 | 700,000 | Cost of goods written off |
The postings are generated by the sales document, not the values reference book. But thanks to the selected value "Wholesale," you now build a report on account 6010 grouped by sales channel and see: for the "Wholesale" channel — 1,000,000 ₸ of income, for "Retail" — its own amount. Exactly one line per channel, without duplicates — because the list of values in the reference book is clean.
If both "Wholesale" and "wholesale" lived in the reference book, the report would split the revenue into two lines, and you'd spend an hour looking for a shortfall that doesn't exist.
5. Types of values (what the reference book provides)
Documents have operation types — this service reference book doesn't. But it serves different types of properties:
- Additional attributes — stored in the object itself, appear in its printout and in postings as analytics; affect selection in reports.
- Additional information — stored separately from the object (in an information register), edited through a separate command, and doesn't "weigh down" the object itself.
- Common values — one attribute and one list of values are used for several object sets at once.
- Hierarchical values — values arranged into folders (for large classifiers).
The value type of an attribute can be various (number, date, string, boolean, reference to a reference book). This reference book is used only for the "Additional value" type — that is, for your own lists.
6. What is generated on save
Honestly and directly: the reference book does not create accounting postings, does not generate an ESF or SNT, and does not make movements in tax registers. It's a list for selection, not a business operation.
What actually happens:
- the element is recorded in the "Object property values" reference book;
- the value becomes available in the drop-down lists of the corresponding attribute;
- if the attribute is selected in a document, the value is saved together with that document (or in an information register — for additional information) and works as analytics in reports.
Postings, ESFs, and SNTs are generated by the documents (sales, receipt, ESF) in whose cards you selected this value.
7. Printed forms
The "Object property values" reference book has no printed forms of its own — there's no need to print a selection list.
Indirectly, the values are output:
- in the printed forms of documents where the additional attribute is filled in (if the attribute is configured for output in print);
- in reports — as a grouping field and as a column (via the report's structure and filter settings).
If needed, the list of values can be exported: reference book list → "More" → "Output list" (to a file or to print).
8. Common mistakes
"The 'Value' field is not filled in" An empty name cannot be saved. Enter the value text and try saving again.
"The value is in use. Deletion is impossible" (when deleting marked objects) The value is still present in documents or cards. Find the places of use via "More" → "Find places of use", replace the value with another, then delete.
Duplicates in the report ("Wholesale" and "wholesale," "Retail " with a space) They arise from manual entry of variations. Mark the extra variant for deletion, and in the documents replace it with the correct one. Going forward — enter values only through the attribute settings, not by typing on the fly.
The value is not selectable in a document, even though it's in the reference book It belongs to another attribute (a different owner) or to a different object set. Check which set the attribute is configured for.
Values don't appear at all The "Additional attributes and information" checkbox in the "Administration" → "General settings" section is cleared. Enable it.
9. FAQ
Does this reference book create postings, ESFs, or SNTs? No. It's a service list of values. Postings and electronic documents are generated by the documents themselves (sales, receipt, ESF) where you selected the value.
If I rename a value, will it change in all documents? Yes. The value is stored by reference, so the new name will immediately appear everywhere it's already been selected — there's no need to redo the documents.
How do I safely delete an unneeded value? Set the deletion mark, then "Administration" → "Maintenance" → "Deletion of marked objects". If the value is used somewhere, the program won't allow deletion and will show the places of use — first replace it there.
Why does the list look chaotic when opened by the navigation link? The direct list gathers the values of all attributes at once, grouped by owner. To work with a specific list, go in through the settings of the needed attribute.
How do "Object property values" differ from the hierarchical option? A hierarchical reference book lets you arrange values into folders — it's used when the attribute is configured for hierarchical storage and there are a great many values.
Are the values common to all objects or to a specific one? It depends on the attribute. If the attribute is made common, its list of values is visible to several object sets; if not — only to its own set.
Can a value be moved from one attribute to another? Not by simple editing — a value has an owner. Enter the value anew in the needed attribute and replace it in the documents.
How do I set my own order of values instead of alphabetical? Fill in the "Weight" field: the smaller the number, the higher the value in the list. This way "High / Medium / Low" will line up in a logical order.
Can many values be added at once? Yes, add them one after another with the "Add" button in the attribute settings — the owner will be substituted automatically for each.
What will happen to old documents if I mark a value for deletion? As long as the value isn't physically deleted, it continues to be displayed in old documents. After deleting marked objects, an empty/invalid value will remain in its place — so first replace, then delete.

- Chart of characteristic types "Additional attributes and information" — this is where the attributes themselves are described; the values from our reference book are their "filling."
- Information register "Additional information" — stores the selected values for additional information (the kind not in the object itself).
- Sets of additional attributes and information — define which objects (counterparties, items, documents) have access to the attribute and its values.
- Any documents and reference books with additional attributes — sales, receipt, counterparties, items: this is exactly where the values are selected and start working as analytics.
Documents are not entered on the basis of this reference book, and it is not entered on the basis of documents — it is connected to objects through the mechanism of additional attributes and information.
