Verified on release 3.0.74.2 "Accounting for Kazakhstan" (revision 3.0).
The register is open, the customer is standing there with a card, but the receipt won't print: "Device not responding." Or you brought in a new online cash register, connected the cable, but 1C "doesn't see" it. Or the barcode scanner beeps, but nothing gets entered into the document. All of these situations are resolved in one place — in the "Connectable Equipment" catalog. Here you register each physical device, link a driver and a workstation to it, and then click "Test device" and see where the break is. Let's go through it step by step.
1. Purpose
"Connectable Equipment" is a technical catalog. It stores cards for all the retail and cash register equipment that works together with 1C: fiscal registrars and online cash registers, barcode scanners, acquiring terminals, customer displays, scales, data collection terminals. The catalog itself does not create postings and does not calculate VAT — it only links the "hardware" to the program so that receipts, card payments, and label printing work.
2. Where to find
Menu path: Administration → Connectable Equipment → the "Connectable Equipment" link (in the "Equipment" block). In some interfaces — via Master Data and Settings → Settings → Connectable Equipment.
You can open the list directly inside 1C using a navigation link. Copy it and paste it into "Service → Go to navigation link" (or Ctrl+Shift+F in the web client):
e1cib/list/Справочник.ПодключаемоеОборудование
Before creating a device, enable the "Use connectable equipment" flag in the settings form — otherwise the section will be hidden.
2a. How to find out your release
Menu "Help" → "About the program" (in the "Taxi" interface — the ℹ️ icon or main menu → Help → About the program). In the window that opens there are two lines: the platform version (for example, 8.3.24.x) and the configuration release — "Accounting for Kazakhstan, revision 3.0 (3.0.74.2)". It is the second line that should match the one in the header of this guide. If your release is older, some fields may look different.
3. How to fill in
Open the list, click "Create". The card is small, but each field affects whether the device will work or not.
| Field | Required | Why, and what happens if wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment type | Yes | You select the kind: "Fiscal registrar", "Cash register with OFD data transfer", "Barcode scanner", "Acquiring terminal", "Customer display", "Scales with label printing", "Data collection terminal", "Receipt printer", "Magnetic card reader". The list of available drivers and the set of settings depend on the type. Choose the wrong type and 1C won't let you select the right driver. |
| Name | Yes | Your own clear name, for example "Register No.1 — Port 4000", "Sales floor scanner". It is substituted into the equipment selection in receipts and into error messages. Name two devices the same and later you won't understand which one is "not responding". |
| Equipment driver | Yes | A link to the "Equipment drivers" catalog — a specific program from the manufacturer (Port-KKM, scanner driver, etc.). If the driver is not selected or not installed on this computer, the device simply won't connect. |
| Workstation | Yes for local devices | The computer to which the "hardware" is physically connected. The equipment works only at its own workstation. Leave it blank or specify someone else's, and the register will show "Device not found". |
| Organization | Yes for fiscal | Required for a fiscal registrar / cash register: the receipt goes to the OFD on behalf of this organization with its BIN. Get it wrong and the fiscal data will go to the wrong company. |
| Device is in use | Flag | Uncheck it to temporarily disable the device without deleting the card (for example, the cash register went for repair). While the flag is off, the equipment is not offered in receipts. |
| Serial / factory number | No, but advisable | For inventory and for registering an online cash register. |
| Driver setup parameters (the "Configure…" button) | Yes in practice | Here you set the port (COM/USB/TCP), the exchange speed, and for the cash register — the OFD address and parameters, BIN, cashier password, tax rates. Without correct parameters the test will not pass. |
After filling in, be sure to click "Configure…", set the port/address, and run "Test device". A green "Test completed successfully" — you can save and close. A red one — read the error text (section 8).
4. Worked example
A store is installing a new online cash register (fiscal registrar) at register No.1.
Step 1. Create the device.
- Equipment type: Cash register with OFD data transfer
- Name: Register No.1 (sales floor)
- Driver: Fiscal registrar driver (already installed on the cash register PC)
- Workstation: PC-KASSA-1
- Organization: Primer LLP, BIN 123456789012
Step 2. "Configure…": TCP port, cash register IP, OFD address, cashier password, VAT rate 16%. "Test device" → successful.
Step 3. Sale. The cashier rings up a receipt: 5 packages at 2,320 ₸ = 11,600 ₸ incl. VAT, payment by card. The device prints a fiscal receipt and transmits it to the OFD.
Important: the catalog itself does not create postings. The accounting result appears in the "Retail sales report" document (or "Cash register receipt" → shift report), which uses this equipment. Let's calculate using these figures:
- VAT = 11,600 × 16 / 116 = 1,600 ₸
- Income excl. VAT = 10,000 ₸
- Cost of goods (conditional) = 6,500 ₸
Postings that the "Retail sales report" will generate:
| Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1030 | 6010 | 10,000 | Income from sales (card payment to the current account) |
| 1030 | 3130 | 1,600 | VAT payable at the 16% rate |
| 7010 | 1330 | 6,500 | Cost of goods sold written off |
This is how "hardware" from the catalog turns into a fiscal receipt, and the receipt into postings and into the ESF/tax reporting — already in the trade documents.
5. Types of equipment (what you can create)
The catalog replaces "operation types" with a list of device types. The main ones:
- Fiscal registrar / cash register with OFD data transfer — printing fiscal receipts, X- and Z-reports, transmitting data to the fiscal data operator.
- Barcode scanner — quick entry of items into a receipt, receipt of goods, inventory count by barcode.
- Acquiring terminal (POS) — payment by bank card directly from the receipt, automatic refund.
- Customer display — showing the amount and change to the customer.
- Scales with label printing / electronic scales — weighed goods, printing labels with barcode and price.
- Data collection terminal (DCT) — offline collection of barcodes for goods receipt and inventory count.
- Receipt printer / label printer — non-fiscal printing.
- Magnetic card reader, RFID — discount and customer cards.
6. What is generated when saving
You save the card — and that's it, no movement documents. Specifically:
- No postings. The catalog is not an accounting one; it does not create debit/credit entries.
- Does not issue an ESF or SNT. Electronic documents are generated in sales/receipts, not here.
- A record appears/is updated in the catalog and in the workstation's service settings (which device is active on which PC, with which driver parameters).
- The device becomes available for selection in cash register documents: "Cash register receipt", card payment, entry by scanner.
All postings, 16% VAT, ESF, and register movements arise later — in the trade documents that rely on this equipment.
7. Printed forms
The catalog has no classic printed forms (like a delivery note) — it is a technical card. What actually exists:
- Test device — a window with the connection check result.
- Equipment status report — a summary of the connected devices of the workstation.
- Printing is done by the device itself: the fiscal receipt, the X-report (without zeroing), the Z-report (shift closing with zeroing), the OFD report, labels — all of this is printed through the driver, not through a 1C template.
8. Common errors
"Error when connecting the device: equipment driver not installed" The manufacturer's driver is not installed on this PC or is not registered in 1C. Install the driver, then in the "Equipment drivers" card click "Functions → Install driver".
"Device not responding" / "COM port… busy or unavailable" Busy with another program or the wrong port is specified. Close the third-party cash register program, check the port number and speed in "Configure…", and for a networked cash register — the IP and port (a common mistake is that port 4000/9100 is specified incorrectly).
"Driver handler not found on the client" 1C is running in a web/thin client without the installed equipment support extension. Install the extension (1C will offer it itself) and restart the session.
"The shift exceeds 24 hours. Close the shift (take a Z-report)" The online cash register won't allow ringing up receipts for longer than a day. Take a Z-report (shift closing) and open a new one.
"No connection with the OFD" / "Data not transmitted to the fiscal data operator" The internet dropped or the OFD details are incorrect. Check the connection and the OFD parameters in "Configure…"; receipts will accumulate and be sent when the connection is restored, but a prolonged outage blocks the register.
"The device is used at another workstation" The card specifies someone else's "Workstation". Enter the current computer or create a separate card for each PC.
9. FAQ
Does the "Connectable Equipment" catalog make postings? No. It is a technical catalog. Postings, 16% VAT, and ESF are generated by trade documents (cash register receipt, retail sales report, sale) that use this equipment.
How does a "Fiscal registrar" differ from a "Cash register with OFD data transfer"? In Kazakhstan, a register is required to transmit data to the fiscal data operator. The "Cash register with OFD data transfer" type is designed specifically for online mode with the OFD; choose it for modern registers registered with the state revenue authorities.
How do I check that the device connected? Open the card → "Configure…" → "Test device". The answer "Test completed successfully" means there is a connection. A red error — see the text and the "Common errors" section.
One register — but two computers. How many cards should I create? One card for each workstation where the device is physically connected. The equipment is tied to the "Workstation" field and is unavailable on other PCs.
The cash register went for repair — should I delete the card? No. Uncheck the "Device is in use" flag. It will stop being offered in receipts, and the settings and history will be preserved.
Why does the scanner beep, but the item is not substituted? The device is created but not assigned as active at this workstation, or the item has no barcode filled in. Check the "Device is in use" flag, the workstation, and the barcodes in the item cards.
Where is the VAT rate for the receipt specified? In the cash register driver parameters ("Configure…") you set the correspondence of tax rates; for Kazakhstan in 2026 this is 16%. The tax amount in the receipt and the posting to account 3130 are calculated from this rate.
Is a separate license required for connectable equipment? The functionality is included in the configuration; it is enabled by the "Use connectable equipment" flag. Separately you will need the device manufacturer's drivers and, for the web/thin client, the equipment support extension.
Can the catalog be opened via a direct link?
Yes: copy e1cib/list/Справочник.ПодключаемоеОборудование and paste it into "Service → Go to navigation link".
Why won't the register let me ring up a receipt in the morning? Most likely, yesterday's shift is not closed. An online cash register blocks operation after 24 hours of an open shift — take a Z-report and open a new one.
