Verified on release 3.4.5.21 "Trade Management for Kazakhstan" (edition 3.4).
The warehouse keeper insists that the batch of chocolate with an expiring shelf life has already been shipped to the client, but it still shows up in the stock balance. Or a supplier sent a claim: "You shipped us series No. 4471, but according to the documents it's still listed on your warehouse." You open the item card — there's a total quantity, but you can't see which specific series it was made up from. To avoid pulling up all invoices manually, you open the "Item Series Movement" report. It breaks down the balance into components: which series arrived when, which document it left with, and how much of it is on hand right now.
1. Purpose
The report shows receipt, expense, and balance of goods broken down by series for a selected period. This is a traceability tool: it shows which document a series was received with, which document wrote it off, and where it currently is. The report doesn't change anything in the database — it only reads register data and displays it on screen.
2. Where to find it
The path depends on where series tracking is enabled in your database, but in the standard delivery the report is located here:
Section "Warehouse and Delivery" (or "Inventory and Procurement") → group "Warehouse Reports" / "Reports" → "Item Series Movement".
If it's not visible in the section's report list, click the "More reports" or "All reports" link at the bottom of the panel — all subsystem reports are available there, including specialized ones for series.
The fastest way to open it directly is via a navigation link. Copy the line below, in 1C press "Tools and Settings" (▼ icon or "File" menu) → "Go to navigation link" (or Ctrl+F11 in the web client) and paste:
e1cib/list/Отчет.ДвижениеСерииНоменклатуры
2a. How to find out your release
Menu "Help" → "About" (﹖ icon in the top right corner). In the window that opens:
- Platform version — for example, "1C:Enterprise 8.3.24.х";
- Configuration — "Trade Management for Kazakhstan", edition and release (you should have 3.4.5.21).
If your release differs, individual fields and group names may shift, but the report logic is the same.
3. How to configure and generate
The report doesn't have "document fields" — instead it has parameters and filters. Let's look at each one: why it's needed and what happens if it's set incorrectly.
| Parameter | REQUIREMENT | Why it's needed / what happens if wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Period (from... to...) | Required | Sets the boundaries of movements. Turnovers (receipt/expense) are calculated within the period, and the balance — at the start and end. If you set a narrow period, a series that arrived earlier will appear as "balance without receipt". Leave it empty — the report will take the entire operating time of the database and will take a long time to calculate. |
| Organization | Recommended | Limits data to one legal entity. In a database with several organizations without a filter, balances will be added together — you'll see someone else's goods. |
| Warehouse | Recommended | Shows series for a specific warehouse. Without it, a series will be "smeared" across all warehouses, and you won't understand where the batch is physically located. |
| Item | Recommended | Narrows the report to one item or group. Without a filter, the report will display all serialized goods — this is hard to read. |
| Series | As needed | Targeted filter for when you're searching for the fate of one specific series (by number, expiration date, batch). |
| Characteristic | As needed | Appears if characteristics (color/size) are enabled for the item. Needed to avoid mixing identical series of different characteristics. |
Workflow:
- Open the report. Set the Period — this is the only thing without which it won't build correctly.
- Click "Settings" (or the gear icon) → tab "Filters" and add the needed conditions: Organization, Warehouse, Item, Series.
- If needed, on the "Structure" tab change the groupings — for example, first by Warehouse, then by Item, and within it by Series.
- Click "Generate" (
F5).
Important: series are only tracked if the item type has series accounting policy enabled. If series are not tracked for the item, the report for it will be empty — this is not a report error, but an item configuration issue.
4. Worked example
Condition. LLP "Dana-Farm" sells medications, series are mandatory (batch + expiration date). We're looking at the drug "Ascorbic acid, tab." at the warehouse "Pharmacy No. 1" for September 2026.
Movements for the month:
- 09/03 — receipt from supplier: series A-2609 (expires 06.2028), purchased 1,000 pkg. at 300 ₸ excluding VAT, VAT 16% on top.
- 09/05 — receipt: series A-2705 (expires 07.2028), 500 pkg.
- 09/12 — sale to client: 300 pkg. of series A-2609.
- 09/20 — sale: 400 pkg. of series A-2705.
The "Item Series Movement" report will show (quantity, pkg.):
| Series | Balance on 09/01 | Receipt | Expense | Balance on 09/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A-2609 (until 06.2028) | 0 | 1,000 | 300 | 700 |
| A-2705 (until 07.2028) | 0 | 500 | 400 | 100 |
| Total | 0 | 1,500 | 700 | 800 |
Now it's visible: 800 packages are on the warehouse, of which 700 are from series A-2609 and 100 from A-2705. If a client disputes a batch, you can immediately name the series and its balance.
Journal entries — where are they? The report itself doesn't make journal entries. They're generated by movement documents. For clarity, here are the journal entries behind these figures (according to the standard chart of accounts of the Republic of Kazakhstan), for the receipt of series A-2609 (1,000 pkg. × 300 ₸ = 300,000 ₸, VAT 16% = 48,000 ₸):
| Operation | Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receipt of goods | 1330 "Goods" | 3310 "AP to suppliers" | 300,000 |
| Input VAT (credit) | 1420 "VAT recoverable" | 3310 | 48,000 |
And for the sale of 300 pkg. of series A-2609 to a client at 500 ₸ excluding VAT (150,000 ₸ + VAT 16% = 24,000 ₸), cost of goods sold 300 × 300 = 90,000 ₸:
| Operation | Dr | Cr | Amount, ₸ |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales revenue | 1210 "AR from customers" | 6010 "Sales revenue" | 150,000 |
| Output VAT | 1210 | 3130 "VAT payable" | 24,000 |
| Write-off of cost | 7010 "Cost of sales" | 1330 "Goods" | 90,000 |
The series report ties these documents together: it shows that out of 300,000 ₸ of receipts, at the end of the month there are 700 packages of series A-2609 "sitting" in the 1330 balance.
5. Operation types (report variants)
The report doesn't have "operation types" in the sense of a document, but there are modes via settings and groupings:
- Series statement — opening balance, receipt, expense, closing balance (as in the example).
- Balances only — what's on the warehouse for each series as of a date (uncheck turnover checkboxes).
- Turnovers only — movements for the period without balances.
- With detail by register recorder — expand each series down to specific documents (receipt, sale, transfer, write-off).
- By warehouses / by organizations — by changing the order of groupings in "Structure".
6. What is generated when built
The report does not create journal entries, electronic documents, or movements — it only reads them. The data source is the accumulation register for goods and series at warehouses (in the configuration this is the register for tracking series/balances of goods by series). Therefore:
- ESF (Electronic Invoice IS) and SNT are generated not from here, but from receipt and sale documents. The report only helps verify which series a document was issued for.
- If the figures in the report seem incorrect — correct the source documents, not the report.
7. Printed forms
The report doesn't have a separate template — the table form itself is printed. After generation the following is available:
- "Print" (
Ctrl+P) — send the report to printer as is; - "Save as..." — export to Excel (.xlsx), .mxl, .pdf;
- "Send" — by email as attachment.
The configured view can be saved with the "Save report variant" button, so you don't have to set up filters again.
8. Common errors
"Required parameter 'Period' is not filled in" — the report won't build without boundaries. Set dates in the header.
The report is empty even though the goods are on the warehouse. Most likely, series tracking is not enabled for this item type (series are not tracked). Check the item type card → series accounting policy. For non-serialized goods, the report is always empty.
"Negative balance for series". A series was written off that wasn't sufficient on the warehouse (sold before it was received, or the series was mixed up during shipment). Find the sale/transfer document and specify the correct series; if needed, post a surplus receipt.
There's a balance for the series, but the series itself is "empty" (no number). When posting the document, the series wasn't selected, and the goods went into a "series without details". Open the source document from the report (double-click on the row) and fill in the series, then re-post.
The report figures don't match the goods statement. Check whether the filters are the same (period, warehouse, organization). The goods statement may include non-serialized items that are not in this report.
9. FAQ
See the section below — matches the JSON.
10. Related documents
The "Item Series Movement" report is not entered based on anything and does not generate anything itself — it aggregates document data. Series enter it from:
- Receipt of Goods and Services (procurement) — series receipt;
- Sale of Goods and Services — series expense;
- Transfer of Goods — series movement between warehouses;
- Receipt / Write-off of Goods — correction of series balances;
- Assembly (kitting) of Goods — if series are tracked by kits.
From a report row, double-click to drill down into the specific source document and correct the series there.
How to find out your release
