Critical error of the Kontragent extension: what to do

If a critical error occurs while working with the "Counterparty" extension in 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan, this is a significant problem and it must be resolved immediately: the extension needs to be disabled until an update is released. Until the corrective update is installed, work with the extension disabled, and after the update is installed, the extension can be enabled again.

What the "Counterparty" extension is and why it causes a failure

The "Counterparty" extension is an additional configuration module that is built into the standard 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan and expands its functionality (for example, automatic filling of counterparty details). Like any extension, it works on top of the main configuration, so when updating the platform or the configuration itself, incompatibility is possible. As a result, a critical error occurs that may block the opening of forms, posting of documents, or the operation of the program as a whole.

Until the developer releases an update that resolves the conflict, the only safe way to continue working is to temporarily disable the problematic extension. This does not remove it from the database: the settings and the module itself are preserved, only its influence on the configuration is disabled.

Step-by-step procedure for disabling the extension

  1. Open the Administration section.
  2. Go to the Printed forms, reports and processing subsection.
  3. Select the Extensions item — a list of installed extensions will open.
  4. Find the "Counterparty" extension in the list.
  5. Uncheck it (the "In use" / "Connected" checkbox), thereby disabling the extension.
  6. Close the program and log back into the database for the changes to take effect.

You need to work with the extension disabled until an update is released that fixes this error. After installing such an update, the extension can be enabled again by putting the checkbox back in place.

How to enable the extension again after the update

When an update that fixes the error is released, the procedure is reversed:

  1. Install the released configuration update (or the updated version of the extension itself).
  2. Go to Administration → Printed forms, reports and processing → Extensions.
  3. Find the "Counterparty" extension and check the box again, enabling it.
  4. Restart the program and verify that the error no longer occurs.

What you can do while the extension is disabled

Disabling the extension does not stop the main work in the program — only the functionality added by the extension itself is blocked. During this period, pay attention to the following:

  • Counterparty details that were previously filled in automatically will need to be entered and checked manually (name, BIN/IIN, bank details).
  • Reconcile counterparty data with primary documents and contracts to avoid errors in details when issuing documents and generating ESF.
  • Generating tax reporting (TFR), issuing ESF, and other standard configuration operations continue to work in normal mode if they do not depend on the disabled extension.

Recommendations for safe work

  • Make a backup copy of the database before any actions with extensions and before installing the update. This will allow you to roll back if something goes wrong.
  • Do not delete the extension completely if you plan to use it after the fix — it is enough to uncheck it. Deletion will result in the loss of settings, and after the update is released, the module will have to be installed again.
  • Wait for an official update from the developer that fixes the specific error. Do not try to "cure" the conflict by editing the configuration manually if you are not sure of the consequences.
  • Check for updates regularly to enable the extension immediately after the fix is released.

Common mistakes

  • Continuing to work with the extension enabled despite the critical error — this can lead to program failures and data corruption.
  • Completely deleting the extension instead of simply disabling it, losing settings and the module.
  • Not making a backup copy of the database before making changes.
  • Unchecking the box but not restarting the program — as a result of which the extension actually remains active until re-login.
  • Forgetting to enable the extension again after installing the update and continuing to enter data manually without necessity.

What to check

  • Whether the "Counterparty" extension is disabled: in the Administration → Printed forms, reports and processing → Extensions list, its checkbox should be unchecked.
  • Whether the critical error has disappeared after disabling and restarting the program.
  • Whether a current backup copy of the database has been created.
  • Whether an update that fixes the error has been released — and whether the extension has been enabled again after its installation.
  • The correctness of the counterparty details entered manually during the period while the extension was disabled.
