Verified on release 3.4.5.21 of “Trade Management for Kazakhstan” (edition 3.4).

A counterparty has sent a packaging reconciliation statement: according to their records, you still have 120 pallets, while you are certain that you returned almost all of them. Arguing without evidence is pointless—you need a document showing how much packaging you accepted, how much you returned, and how much remained as of a specific date. This is exactly what the “Statement of Accepted Returnable Packaging” is for. The report compiles returnable packaging movements for each supplier and partner and shows the balance for which you are responsible. Below is how to use it to settle a dispute in five minutes.

1. Purpose

The report shows the balances and turnover of third-party returnable packaging that you have accepted (pallets, crates, kegs, bottles, cylinders, etc.), broken down by counterparties, partners, contracts, warehouses, and packaging items. It is a reconciliation tool showing how much packaging arrived with the goods, how much you returned to the supplier, and what packaging liability remained as of the specified date.

2. Where to Find It

- “Warehouse and Delivery” section (in some configurations, “Purchases”) → “Warehouse Reports” / “Packaging” report group → “Statement of Accepted Returnable Packaging”.

- Through “All Functions” → Reports → Statement of Accepted Returnable Packaging.

- Quick method: select “Service” → “Follow Navigation Link” and paste:
e1cib/list/Отчет.ВедомостьПоПринятойВозвратнойТаре

If the item is not on the panel, enable it through the section’s “Navigation Settings” or open it using the navigation link. If the item is absent from the menu, this does not mean that the report is unavailable: it may be hidden by access rights or interface settings.

2a. How to Find Your Release

“Help” → “About” (or the button with the “i” icon in the upper-right corner). The window that opens shows the platform version (for example, 8.3.24) and the configuration release. These instructions are written for “Trade Management for Kazakhstan,” edition 3.4, release 3.4.5.21. If you have an older release, the columns and groupings may differ slightly.

3. How to Complete It (Configure the Report)

The report is not posted and does not create documents—you specify the filter parameters, click “Generate”, and review the results. The key fields at the top of the form are:

Field
Purpose
What Happens If It Is Incorrect

Period (from … to …) — required
Sets the turnover interval and the closing balance date
Blank “to” date → the current date will be used, and the balance will not match the counterparty’s statement as of the required date

Organization — required if there are multiple organizations
Limits the data to your legal entity
Without this filter, you will combine packaging from different organizations and obtain an overstated balance

Counterparty (packaging supplier)
Filters by the packaging owner—the party to which you must return it
Blank → report for all counterparties; when reconciling with one supplier, be sure to specify it

Partner
Used if partners are maintained separately from legal-entity counterparties
A partner/counterparty mismatch will produce “duplicate” rows

Contract
Packaging return terms are often tracked by contract
Without this filter, balances under different contracts will be combined into one amount

Warehouse
Where the accepted packaging is physically stored
Useful when packaging is accepted at several warehouses

Item / Packaging Type
Filters by specific packaging (EUR pallet, 50 L keg, etc.)
Without this filter, you will receive a complete list—which is appropriate for a full reconciliation

The following are also available through “Settings” → “More” → “Edit Variant”:

- Row groupings — Counterparty → Contract → Item (standard for reconciliation).

- Indicators — “Opening Balance,” “Received,” “Returned,” and “Closing Balance” (by quantity and security deposit amount).

- Filters and sorting — for example, hide rows with a zero balance (select the Closing Balance ≠ 0 filter).

Procedure: set the Period → select the Organization → when reconciling, add the Counterparty → click “Generate”. You can save the settings using the “Save Report Variant” button so that you do not have to configure them again every month.

4. Worked Example with Figures

Scenario. Astana-Logistic LLP (a VAT payer) purchases water from Caspian-Packaging LLP in June 2026. The water arrives on returnable pallets with a security deposit value of 8 000 ₸/unit (excluding VAT—the packaging deposit is not subject to VAT as long as the packaging is returned on time).

Movements for June:

- Outstanding packaging balance as of 01.06.2026 — 40 pallets × 8 000 = 320 000 ₸;

- Received with goods — 100 pallets × 8 000 = 800 000 ₸;

- Returned to the supplier — 110 pallets × 8 000 = 880 000 ₸;

- Balance as of 30.06.2026 — 30 pallets × 8 000 = 240 000 ₸.

The report generates the following row:

Counterparty
Packaging
Opening Balance
Received
Returned
Closing Balance

Caspian-Packaging LLP
EUR Pallet
40 / 320 000 ₸
100 / 800 000 ₸
110 / 880 000 ₸
30 / 240 000 ₸

The counterparty’s statement shows a balance of 32 pallets. Open the row details (double-click the “Returned” quantity) to view the list of return documents and discover that the return of 2 pallets dated 28.06 is still “in transit” in the supplier’s records. The dispute is settled: you physically returned them, but the supplier has not yet recorded their receipt.

Entries. Returnable packaging is third-party property, so in statutory accounting it is recorded in an off-balance-sheet account (inventories accepted for safekeeping); no entries are made to balance-sheet accounts 1330/3310 when packaging subject to a security deposit is accepted:

- Acceptance of 100 pallets: Dr off-balance-sheet packaging account 800 000 ₸ (single entry, without a credit);

- Return of 110 pallets: Cr off-balance-sheet packaging account 880 000 ₸.

However, if the packaging is NOT returned and becomes the recipient’s property under the contract (non-return), the 30 pallets constitute a sale/write-off and 16% VAT applies:

- Dr 1210 278 400 ₸ / Cr 6010 240 000 ₸ and Cr 3130 38 400 ₸ (16% VAT on 240 000);

- Dr 7010 / Cr 1330 — for the cost of the disposed packaging.

Note: the report itself does not create entries—it reads registers. Entries are generated by the source documents (receipt, return, and packaging write-off).

5. Transaction Types (What the Report Shows)

The report is not a document, so it has no “transaction types.” However, it presents four types of returnable packaging movements:

- Opening balance for the period—what you already have to return.

- Receipt—packaging accepted with the goods (receipt documents).

- Return—packaging shipped back to the supplier.

- Closing balance—the current packaging liability to the counterparty.

6. What Is Generated When Working with the Report

The report does not post anything: it does not create entries, generate an E-Invoice, an Accompanying Consignment Note, or other electronic documents, or record movements in registers. It only reads data already accumulated by documents. This is essential: for the figures to match, prepare the source documents correctly—

- an E-Invoice (in the E-Invoicing Information System) and an Accompanying Consignment Note are issued for the sale of goods and for packaging not returned (when the packaging becomes a sale subject to 16% VAT), not by the report itself;

- packaging receipt and return documents generate movements in the packaging accounting register—the report only summarizes their balances and turnover.

7. Print Forms

The report has no separate form—the generated table itself is printed. The following options are available:

- “Print”—sends the current report variant to a printer;

- “Save As…”—exports to Excel (.xlsx), .mxl, or PDF, which is convenient for sending it to the counterparty as an attachment to the reconciliation statement;

- “Send”—sends it immediately by email from 1C.

Before printing, configure the groupings and remove zero balances to provide the counterparty with a clean reconciliation.

8. Common Errors

- “The ‘Period’ field is not completed”—the interval has not been specified. Enter the “from” and “to” dates; for reconciliation as of a specific date, enter the date of the counterparty’s statement.

- The report is blank despite completed filters. This is most often caused by a “Counterparty/Partner” conflict or an incorrect organization. Remove unnecessary filters, leave the period and organization, and generate the report again.

- The balance does not match the counterparty’s statement. Check that you are using the same date and that returns “in transit” have been recorded as received by the supplier. Double-click the row to drill down to the documents.

- “No permission to view data.” The report opens, but the data is blank—ask the administrator to assign a role that permits viewing warehouse/trade reports.

- VAT appears in the amount. This means that some of the packaging was posted as non-returned (a sale subject to 16% VAT). This is not a report error—check the packaging write-off/sale documents.

9. FAQ

1. How does “accepted returnable packaging” differ from own packaging?
Accepted packaging belongs to a third party and must be returned to the supplier; it is recorded off the balance sheet. Own packaging belongs to you, is recorded in account 1330, and is sold/shipped as goods.

2. Is returnable packaging subject to VAT?
As long as the packaging is returned within the contractual deadline, no—it is a security deposit. If the packaging is not returned and ownership is transferred, this gives rise to a sale subject to 16% VAT (the Kazakhstan rate for 2026).

3. As of what date does the report show the balance?
As of the “to” date in the “Period” field. If you need the balance as of 30.06.2026, set this as the period end date.

4. How can I see which documents make up the figure?
Double-click the quantity or amount cell to open a drill-down with a list of source documents.

5. Does the report generate an E-Invoice or Accompanying Consignment Note?
No. The report only displays data. E-Invoices and Accompanying Consignment Notes are issued by sale and packaging non-return documents.

6. Why is the counterparty’s balance higher than mine?
Usually, your returns have not yet been recorded as received by the supplier (“in transit”), or you are using different reconciliation dates. Reconcile as of the same date and review the latest return documents.

7. Can I filter for only one supplier?
Yes. Specify it in the “Counterparty” field (and, if necessary, the “Contract” field), then click “Generate.”

8. How do I remove rows with a zero balance?
Under “Edit Variant” → “Filters,” add the Closing Balance ≠ 0 condition or clear the checkbox for displaying zero rows.

9. Does the report create entries?
No. Entries and movements are generated by packaging receipt, return, and write-off documents. The report only summarizes the totals.

10. How do I provide the reconciliation to the counterparty?
Generate the report for the required counterparty, select “Save As…” to save it in Excel or PDF, and attach it to the packaging reconciliation statement.

10. Related Documents

The report does not need to be entered on the basis of anything—it is an analytical report. It relies on the source documents that generate packaging movements:

- Purchase of Goods and Services / Receipt of Goods—acceptance of returnable packaging together with the goods;

- Return of Packaging to Supplier (or the corresponding packaging shipment document)—settlement of the packaging liability;

- Packaging Write-Off / Sale—recording a non-return (ownership of the packaging is transferred and 16% VAT applies);

- Packaging Settlement Reconciliation Statement—the final document to which this report is attached.

The logic is simple: receipt and return documents maintain the packaging records, while the “Statement of Accepted Returnable Packaging” shows the result and helps reconcile the records with the counterparty.

How to find your release: “Help” → “About”—this shows the 1C:Enterprise platform version and configuration release.
