Verified in release 3.4.5.21 of “Trade Management for Kazakhstan” (edition 3.4).

A customer calls and says: “We returned all the pallets to you; we do not have anything outstanding.” But your packaging reconciliation statement shows 20 items outstanding. Who is right? Opening the source documents one by one takes too long. You need a single page showing, for each counterparty, how much packaging was transferred, how much was returned, and how much remains outstanding. This is exactly what the “Statement of Transferred Returnable Packaging” report does. It is not a document but a reflection of your movements: it does not change data but shows the balances of returnable packaging held by customers as of any date. Open it, generate it for the period, and the dispute with the counterparty is settled by figures rather than emotions.

1. Purpose

The report shows movements and balances of returnable packaging that you transferred to counterparties (customers) but that has not yet been returned. For each counterparty, contract, and type of packaging, you can see the opening balance, quantities transferred and returned, and the closing balance—in units and by amount. This provides the basis for packaging reconciliation and control of deposit packaging.

2. Where to Find It

Path in the interface:

- “Sales” section (or “Warehouse and Delivery,” depending on the interface settings) → “Reports” group → “Statement of Transferred Returnable Packaging.”

- If there is no link in the section’s reports panel, click “Sales Reports” / “All Reports” and find the report by name in the list.

A quick way to open it directly in 1C: Main Menu → “Service” → “Follow Navigation Link” (or Alt+F1), then paste this string:

e1cib/list/Отчет.ВедомостьПоПереданнойВозвратнойТаре

2a. How to Check Your Release

“Help” → “About” (or the ℹ️ icon in the upper-right corner). The window that opens shows the “1C:Enterprise” platform version (for example, 8.3.24) and the configuration release—the line “Trade Management for Kazakhstan, edition 3.4 (3.4.5.21).” If your release is older or newer, some settings and columns may have different names.

3. How to Generate and Configure the Report

The report is not a form with “required/optional” fields. You specify the selection parameters, and the report generates the results. The key settings are:

Setting
Purpose and what happens if it is set incorrectly

Period (REQUIRED)
Specifies the interval for which “Transferred” and “Returned” are calculated and the closing balance date. If left blank or set to an excessively narrow period, the movements will be incomplete; the closing balance will be shown as of the end of the period. For reconciliation, set the end of the period equal to the reconciliation statement date.

Company
Filters by your company. If you keep records for several legal entities and do not apply this filter, packaging for all companies will be included in the statement and the amounts will be distorted.

Counterparty
Filters by a specific customer. Use it when reconciling with one counterparty; otherwise, you will get one long consolidated report.

Contract
Narrows the filter to a specific contract. This is useful when there are several contracts with one counterparty and their packaging must not be combined.

Item / Packaging Type
Filters by a specific type of packaging (pallets, drums, crates, cylinders). Without this filter, all types are shown together.

Warehouse
Restricts the report by the shipping warehouse. If blank, all warehouses are included.

How to use it:

- Open the report.

- Check the period—this is the main parameter. For example, set it from 01.01.2026 through 30.09.2026.

- Click “Settings” (the gear button or “More → Edit Variant”) to add filters (counterparty, contract, packaging type) and groupings.

- Configure the grouping: usually, the top level is “Counterparty,” followed by “Contract” and “Item.” This makes the balances easy to read from top to bottom.

- Click “Generate.”

Tip: save your configured variant, including your filters and groupings, via “More → Save Report Variant” so you will not need to configure it again next time.

4. Worked Example with Figures

Situation. Snabtorg LLP ships goods to customer Aktan LLP on returnable wooden pallets. The accounting (deposit) price of a pallet is 3 000 ₸ per unit. Returnable packaging is not subject to VAT while its return is expected (the VAT rate in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2026 is 16%, but it does not apply to deposit returnable packaging).

Movements for 9 months of 2026:

- As of 01.01.2026, 10 pallets were already recorded as held by Aktan (opening balance).

- Another 40 pallets were shipped with goods in February and April.

- Aktan returned 30 pallets in March and June.

What the statement will show for the counterparty Aktan:

Indicator
Quantity, units
Amount, ₸

Opening balance
10
30 000

Transferred
40
120 000

Returned
30
90 000

Closing balance
20
60 000

Conclusion: the customer Aktan still holds 20 pallets worth 60 000 ₸. This is the figure you include in the reconciliation statement. If the counterparty claims to have returned everything, review together which returns have not been recorded using the “Return of Packaging from Customer” document.

Entries generated by the underlying documents (the report itself does not generate entries). When accounting for deposit returnable packaging, the movements are generated by the shipment and return documents:

- Transfer of pallets to the customer (at the accounting price of 120 000 ₸ for 40 units):
- Dr 1210 Cr 1330 — 120 000 ₸ (the customer’s receivable for transferred returnable packaging at the deposit price).

- Return of pallets from the customer (30 units × 3 000 = 90 000 ₸):
- Dr 1330 Cr 1210 — 90 000 ₸ (the packaging has been returned to the warehouse and the receivable has been settled).

If the packaging was settled in cash (the customer did not return the packaging but compensated for it with money), the receivable is settled by the receipt: Dr 1030 Cr 1210. The exact entry scheme for deposit packaging depends on the accounting policy settings and the method used to settle packaging transactions in the particular database—this is the only point that requires verification against your accounting policy.

5. Operation Types (Report Variants)

The report does not have “operation types” as a document does, but it supports ready-made scenarios through its settings:

- Statement by counterparty—all packaging held by one customer (for a reconciliation statement).

- Statement by packaging type—the number of pallets/drums/cylinders “in circulation” among all customers (for a packaging inventory count).

- Statement by contract—packaging broken down by contract when there are several agreements with a counterparty.

- Consolidated by company—the total balance of unreturned packaging for estimating funds tied up in packaging.

Switch between them using filters and groupings in “Settings” or saved report variants.

6. What Is Generated When the Report Is Run

The report does not create entries, generate electronic invoices or accompanying consignment notes, or write to registers—it only reads data. Its source is the accumulation register for transferred returnable packaging (movements are posted to it by packaging shipment and return documents).

It is important to understand the logic of electronic documents for packaging:

- Electronic invoices (E-invoicing IS) and accompanying consignment notes for returnable packaging are generally not issued separately while the packaging is expected to be returned, because there is no sales turnover for it and VAT (16%) is not charged.

- An electronic invoice for the packaging is issued only if the packaging ceases to be returnable (it is transferred into the customer’s ownership or sold). It then becomes an ordinary sale subject to VAT with the corresponding entries (Dr 1210 Cr 6010, Dr 3130—VAT, Dr 7010 Cr 1330—cost).

In other words, the report shows the packaging for which no sale or electronic invoice exists yet, but for which there is an obligation to return it.

7. Printable Forms

The report itself is a printable form (a spreadsheet document). The following options are available from the generated report:

- Print—the “Print” button (or Ctrl+P) sends the statement to the printer.

- Save As…—export to Excel (.xlsx), PDF, .mxl, or HTML. This is convenient for attaching it to a packaging reconciliation statement.

- Send by Email—send the spreadsheet document directly to the counterparty.

The report does not have a separate approved standard form—the content displayed on the screen with your groupings and filters is what gets printed.

8. Common Errors

“Required parameter ‘Period’ is not filled in” / the report is empty.
The period is not specified or is blank. Specify the correct interval and click “Generate.”

The report is empty even though packaging was transferred.
The most common cause is an excessively narrow period or an unnecessary filter. Check whether a filter is set for the “wrong” counterparty/contract/warehouse and expand the period. Another possible cause is that the packaging shipment documents have not been posted: only a posted document creates register movements.

The closing balance does not match the counterparty’s statement.
Expand the grouping down to the documents (double-click the row or select “Drill Down”). You may find a return that the counterparty made but that you have not yet recorded using the “Return of Packaging from Customer” document—or, conversely, an undocumented packaging shipment.

“Object field not found” / the report variant does not open.
A saved variant was corrupted or became outdated after an update. Use “More → Edit Variant → Standard Settings” to restore the default variant and configure the filters again.

Packaging that has already been written off is included in the balance.
The packaging write-off was recorded using the wrong document (for example, as an ordinary inventory write-off rather than removing the packaging from returnable-packaging accounting). As a result, the returnable-packaging register movement was not closed—check the write-off method.

9. FAQ

(see the FAQ section)

10. Related Documents

The report is based on movements created by the following documents:

- Sale of Goods and Services (with returnable packaging specified)—“Transferred.” Pallets, drums, and cylinders are usually dispatched together with the goods.

- Packaging Transfer / a separate returnable-packaging transfer document—“Transferred.”

- Return of Packaging from Customer (return of returnable packaging)—“Returned.”

- Settlement Reconciliation Statement (for packaging)—prepared on the basis of this report’s data.

- Packaging Inventory Count—reconciles the actual quantity on hand with the balances in the statement.

The report itself is not entered on the basis of anything and does not create anything on its own basis—it is analytical.
